How this calculation works
This calculator is designed to show a more realistic Netherlands estimate instead of using one flat tax percentage.
- If you choose VAT registered, the calculator first removes 21% VAT from the entered annual income.
- It then deducts your selected expense ratio to estimate annual business expenses and profit.
- The calculator assumes basic entrepreneur deductions, including zelfstandigenaftrek and mkb-winstvrijstelling.
- Dutch Box 1 tax is then calculated using the 2026 progressive rates.
- General tax credit and labour tax credit are applied to reduce the tax estimate.
- A separate Zvw contribution is calculated on profit up to the 2026 maximum contribution income.
- Net income is shown after estimated expenses, income tax and Zvw contribution.
This is still a simplified estimate. It assumes you qualify for the entrepreneur deductions and does not include every Dutch rule such as startersaftrek, investment deductions, fiscal partner effects or AOW-age differences.
Self-Employed Tax Calculator Netherlands (2026) – ZZP Tax, Zvw & Net Income
Use this Netherlands self-employed tax calculator to estimate your 2026 net income after Dutch Box 1 income tax, entrepreneur deductions and the Zvw contribution. It is built for ZZP workers, freelancers, consultants, contractors and other self-employed professionals who want a faster and more realistic estimate of take-home pay in the Netherlands. The calculator helps you move from annual turnover to final net income by adjusting for VAT status, estimated business expenses, zelfstandigenaftrek, mkb-winstvrijstelling, tax credits and the income-related health insurance contribution. That makes it useful for pricing your services, planning invoices, testing different expense scenarios and understanding how much money may actually remain after the main Dutch tax layers. This Netherlands tax calculator is designed to give self-employed users a practical estimate of ZZP tax, entrepreneur deductions, Zvw costs and real net profit.
The Netherlands can be tricky for self-employed tax planning because your final result depends on several moving parts working together at once: annual invoiced income, deductible expenses, VAT treatment, entrepreneur deductions, Box 1 tax brackets, tax credits and the separate Zvw contribution. This Netherlands freelance tax calculator gives a practical 2026 estimate by showing a clearer path from gross revenue to business profit, deductible entrepreneur relief, taxable income and final take-home pay. It is especially useful for independent workers who want to forecast yearly net income before changing prices, accepting more client work or comparing the Dutch system with other European countries. For regional comparison and stronger internal linking across the site, you can also check our calculators for Belgium, Germany, France, Austria and Italy. That makes this page useful both as a Netherlands net income estimator and as part of a wider Europe self-employed tax comparison journey.
